A sideloader is used when long, heavy, or bulky loads such as timber, steel, profiles, or pipes need to be transported. Thanks to the lateral load handling, it is particularly well suited to narrow aisles and confined storage areas where conventional forklift trucks reach their limits.
Baumann sideloaders are used in steel trading, the steel and metal industry, the timber industry, sawmills, shipyards, and industrial warehousing and manufacturing operations. Wherever long loads need to be moved safely, precisely, and space-efficiently, sideloaders are a proven solution.
The selection depends on factors such as load capacity, load length, available travel paths, space conditions, and the operating environment (indoor or outdoor). Baumann supports customers in choosing the right sideloader series—such as EXL, ELX, or HX—providing technical advice, demonstrations, and dealer support.
Yes. Baumann offers powerful electric sideloaders for demanding industrial applications. They are suitable for both indoor and outdoor use and also cover applications with high load capacities and long loads.
Electric sideloaders are particularly suitable for indoor areas, noise-sensitive environments, and sites with emission regulations. They operate quietly, with zero local emissions and low maintenance requirements. For extreme outdoor use or special applications, diesel-powered models may still be appropriate.
Yes. Baumann electric sideloaders with a 120-volt system are designed for continuous operation over a full shift. In practice, actual driving time is often less than the total shift duration, meaning sufficient power reserves are available even for demanding applications.
Yes. Many Baumann sideloaders are designed for combined indoor and outdoor use. Depending on the model, tyres, and configuration, they are also suitable for outdoor storage areas, factory yards, and partially uneven surfaces.
The range extends from compact models to heavy-duty sideloaders with high load capacities, for example 3–5 tonnes as well as 10, 12, or up to 25 tonnes—depending on model, configuration, and application.
Because long loads are transported sideways, sideloaders require significantly less aisle width than conventional counterbalance forklifts. This enables more efficient use of storage space and safer manoeuvring with long loads.
Yes. Baumann offers inspected used and fully refurbished sideloaders. These machines are technically reconditioned and available with service support, spare parts availability, and technical assistance.
Baumann operates an international network of dealers and partners. This ensures local service, technical support, and reliable spare parts supply across Europe, North America, and other regions.
Baumann sideloaders are specifically designed for the lateral transport of long loads. Compared to counterbalance forklifts, they offer greater load stability, require less aisle space, and enable a more efficient material flow when handling long and heavy loads.
